What this app does

SimplePrompt is a teleprompter and video recording app. It allows you to load a script file, display it as a scrolling autocue, and record video of yourself delivering it. The app uses speech recognition to automatically scroll the script as you speak.

What data we collect

We collect nothing.

Manicgrin Media Ltd does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. We have no servers, no accounts, no analytics, and no advertising.

Permissions this app uses

Camera

SimplePrompt requests access to your camera to record video of you delivering your script. Video is recorded locally on your device and saved directly to your Photos library. It is never transmitted to us or any third party.

Microphone

SimplePrompt requests access to your microphone to record audio as part of your video, and to listen to your speech for the auto-scroll feature. Audio is processed locally and never transmitted to us.

Speech recognition

SimplePrompt uses Apple's Speech Recognition framework to transcribe your voice in real time and use it to scroll your script. This transcription is performed by Apple, not by Manicgrin Media Ltd.

When speech recognition is used, audio may be transmitted to Apple's servers for processing, depending on your device and iOS version. This is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy, available at https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/.

You can use SimplePrompt without granting speech recognition permission — the video recorder will still work, but auto-scroll will be unavailable.

Photos library

SimplePrompt requests permission to save videos to your Photos library. It does not read from your library or access any existing photos or videos.

Script files

Script files you load into SimplePrompt are read locally on your device. The content of your scripts is never transmitted to us or any third party. Your most recently loaded script is stored locally on your device using iOS's standard UserDefaults storage, and remains entirely under your control.

Third-party services

SimplePrompt does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or crash reporting SDKs. The only third-party data processing that may occur is Apple's speech recognition service, as described above.

Children's privacy

SimplePrompt does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children. As we collect no data at all, there is no risk of children's data being processed by us.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. As we collect no data, material changes are unlikely.
